Eve’s Take on International Women’s Day 2021 – Ashley

Meet Ashley, Team Lead for the Debucking Department here at Eve & Co.

Please tell us about your role at Eve & Co.

My job is to supervise crew members with the debucking machine, during the debucking process before handing the bud off to another team.

The theme for IWD 2021 is “Choose to Challenge”, what do you choose to challenge?

I choose to challenge the importance of education provided to women around the world. All women should have the opportunity to be educated and have the opportunity to provide the best possibilities for themselves.

Who is one of your role models?

My mom – she’s the most understanding and caring person. She always captures the hearts of everyone, no matter where she goes or what she’s doing. I know everyone thinks their mom is great, but even my friends look up to her and call her mom.

What does it mean to empower women to you?

I think it’s when you have the backs of your fellow women, supporting them when they need support and not letting them be alone when they need help. We can become anything when we put our minds to it.

If you could leave one piece of advice, a quote or a message to woman-kind, what would it be?

I have two! God gave you life because you’re strong enough to live it, and here’s to the strong women, may be know them, may we be them and may we raise them.
